My 2014-15 Premier League predictions

It’s less than a week until the Premier League is back! To mark this, I will be previewing and predicting the season ahead, looking a who I think will win the title, go down and be top goal scorer, as well as other categories.
Who will win the title?
In my opinion this is the closest title race ever with potentially 5 teams challenging for the Premier League trophy. These 5 teams are last seasons top four and Manchester United who will be back challenging for the title this season. Personally, I think that the title will be coming back to London as that is where the two strongest teams are. Arsenal now have a squad capable of winning the title and Chelsea have added the firepower up front that they need to win reclaim the top spot. As I’m an Arsenal fan, I would love to say that the Gunners can win the title but they need one more signing. Chelsea have a great squad and I think that they will win the title this year. I do think though that Wenger will win at least one more league title in the time he has left with Arsenal. I think City may focus on the Champions League and United need at least 4 more players to mount a sustained title challenge.
Who will finish in the top four?
As I said above, 5 teams will be challenging for the title, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Man United. One of these teams won’t qualify for the top four and the rest will be challenged by Spurs and Everton for 4th. I think that Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man United will all qualify for the top four leaving Liverpool out. Liverpool were carried by Suarez last season and European football will be a big distraction. Spurs will need more time to adapt to their new manager so a top four finish/title challenge might be a bit far off for now.
Who will get relegated?
Like last season, I think that there will be a big relegation scrap. There are 5 or 6 teams who can potentially go down but I think that the three going down are Burnley, Leicester and West Brom. I don’t think Burnley or Leicester have a Premier League quality side and West Brom haven’t made good signings so far. Hull will probably be in a relegation fight if they qualify for Europe, and West Ham may also be down there.
Who will be top goalscorer?
Suarez dominate the goalscoring charts last season and no one came close to beating him. This season will be closer, and no one is really standing out for me. I think that Van Persie will be top scorer, if he stays fit. Van Gaal knows how to bring the best out of him, and he is proven in the Premier League. Diego Costa, Aguero, Sturidge and Sanchez may all come close to claiming the golden boot though.
Who will be player of the season?
I think that my player of the season last season might get recognised with the real award this season. If he stays fit and content with the club then Yaya Toure will do very well. If not, then if another man stays fit and continues his good form from last season then he may be player of the season. That man is Aaron Ransey. If he wasn’t injured last season he would have been Premier League player of the season as well as Arsenal player of the season. Hopefully he can add that this season.
Who will be the surprise package?
Last season, Southampton surprised everyone and did so well. An 8th place finish for a team who were in a relegation battle the season before is a great achievement. This season, I think that Newcastle can achieve the same feat and make up the ground between them and the top seven.
